Terms & Conditions

This page explains, in plain language, how Taxbridge operates and how its fees and tax-related deductions currently work. It is a description of the platform's own configuration and workflow, not a statement of law and not a legal guarantee - tax laws, rules, and rates set by the government can change, and applicable law always takes precedence over anything written here. All rates and thresholds below are admin-configurable and are rendered live from the platform's current settings at the time you view this page; they may be updated from time to time. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified tax professional or legal advisor.

1. Service Nature

Taxbridge operates as a technology/platform service that connects customers seeking tax and legal assistance with independent lawyers. The platform facilitates discovery, quotation, communication, payment, and dispute-resolution workflows between customers and lawyers - it does not itself provide legal or tax advice, and lawyers using the platform act as independent professionals responsible for the advice and services they deliver.

2. Payment & Commission

The platform charges a commission on completed jobs, currently configured at 10% of the job value. This commission rate is set and adjustable by platform administrators and may change over time; the rate shown here always reflects the current configuration.

3. Gateway Fee

Where a payment gateway charges a processing fee for handling a transaction, that fee is currently configured at 2% and is disclosed transparently as part of the transaction breakdown. This rate is admin-configurable and reflects the platform's current gateway arrangement.

4. Escrow

Customer payments for a job are held by the platform in escrow (payment holding) until the agreed work is delivered and confirmed, or until a dispute (if any) is resolved. Funds are released to the lawyer, refunded to the customer, or split, according to the platform's escrow and dispute-resolution workflow described below.

5. Dispute Resolution

If a disagreement arises over a job, either party may raise a dispute, which is escalated to a platform administrator/resolver for review of the evidence and communication on record. The resolver may decide to release the held payment to the lawyer, refund the customer, or split the outcome between the two.

For resolutions involving a partial/split outcome, the resolver's fee is currently configured at 25% of the lawyer's net payout for that job. No separate VAT/TDS treatment is currently configured for this fee. This fee and its tax treatment are admin-configurable.

6. Refund Policy

Refunds are not automatic. A customer may submit a refund request, which a platform administrator reviews and either approves or rejects based on the circumstances of the job, including any related dispute outcome. Approved refunds are processed against the escrowed payment for that job, consistent with the escrow and dispute-resolution workflow described above.

7. VAT

The platform's commission revenue is subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) at a rate currently configured at 5%, in line with applicable VAT regulations and the platform's own configuration. This rate is admin-configurable and may be updated to reflect changes in applicable regulation.

8. TDS

Depending on applicable law and the platform's configuration, Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) / Advance Income Tax (AIT) may be deducted from a lawyer's payout once their cumulative payout in a financial year exceeds the configured threshold of 50,000. The applicable rate is currently configured at 10% for lawyers with a valid Proof of Submission of Return (PSR) on file, or 20% otherwise. These rates and the threshold are admin-configurable and are set to reflect applicable tax law as understood at the time of configuration.

9. Tax Certificate

Where TDS has been deducted from a lawyer's payout, information for the applicable tax certificate/challan record is made available to the lawyer through the platform, generated from the platform's own transaction records. Such certificates are system-generated for informational and record-keeping purposes and do not necessarily reproduce the exact statutory layout of an official government form; the applicable official form and filing requirements remain governed by applicable law.

10. Privacy & Confidentiality

Information shared through the platform - including job details, documents, and communications between customers and lawyers - is handled in accordance with the platform's privacy practices and is used only to facilitate the services described above. The platform takes reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of such information, consistent with its role as a technology/platform service.
